SafeStart UK develops educational packs for schools in the UK called the SafeStart Children’s Safety CD-ROM, this is a fun and interactive collection of animated games designed to captivate children’s attention, covering major topics of safety such as - road safety, fire safety and internet safety.

A lot of research goes into this product to ensure that the methods used in teaching the children who use it are as effective as possible; so it was essential that the website was not only very child-friendly, but that it also captivated that same dynamic and interactive sense of fun that the CD itself does.

Aside from the bold colours, the website itself is a relatively straightforward blend of XHTML and CSS, using the sliding doors technique to reduce the number of individual images required for the curved corners across the site and including an online demo version of one of the CD’s games in flash:
